A symbol to connect both the church and the state

A “symbol to connect both the church and the state.” That is what they are calling the new In God We Trust Stickers in Roane County West Virginia.
With phrases like “churches on hilltops” and “Roane County has a strong background in our churches and our faith in our communities” this is a prime example of what this phrase actually means to them.
They are no longer hiding behind ceremonial deism or patriotism. No more excuses that it is simply the motto.  It is now a statement of their faith.
This one also brings another twist to the game. The stickers will be paid for with money from the vehicle maintenance budget. We now have tax dollars directly going into these stickers. To make matters worse the county says they plan to place it on all county vehicles, so even more tax dollars will be going to these stickers.

It would be difficult not to point out the blatant religious message this county is promoting.
