Action Alert- Help with an E Pluribus Unum Plaque

On May 11th the Fresno City Council will be considering the addition of In God We Trust  to the council chambers.  We all know how this is likely to turn out.

But there is good news, a local group, the Central Valley Alliance of Atheist and Skeptics, is raising money to offer an E Pluribus Unum  plaque to go along with it.  And they need our help.  They are trying to front load the funds to provide the plaque

This GoFundMe demonstrates that the secular community is eager to demonstrate their patriotism by supporting the placement of the original, inclusive motto of the United States, first used on the Great Seal of the United States and signed into law by President Washington!

By displaying “In God we trust”, the Fresno City Council would be sending a clear message that tens of thousands of Fresno citizens are second to those citizens who believe in and pray to a deity.

The Fresno City Council will meet over this issue on May 11, 2017.  Let’s meet (or exceed!) our goal before then!

This is a seriously important issue.  What can be more important for a city than to make sure that their government is welcoming to ALL of its citizens?

This is a golden opportunity for us to make a difference in one of these issues. So let’s show them what we can do and get them to their goal by May 11th.
