Del Norte County approves E Pluribus Unum

A win in Del Norte County!

On May 12th the Del Norte County Board of Supervisors approve the resolution we sent them regarding the addition of E Pluribus Unum to go along with the phrase In God We Trust, which as approved last month.

We hope this will be the first in a long line of councils to approve of adding E Pluribus Unum to their chambers.

Supervisor Finigan said

I thought as the chair I should bring it to the rest of the board to be able to weigh in, in the name of heritage and patriotism.

Supervisor Gitlin, who we talked about here and here, was of course opposed to the motion said it would open the doors for any saying to go on the wall.  But as one resident so succinctly stated,

I would simply observe that he who starts the slogan movement has to live with the slogan movement.

But I will let the video speak for itself. Enjoy!

Thanks so much to Aaron West at Del Norte Triplicate for alerting me to this.
